TERMS AND CONDITIONS – ALEBRIJED (INTERNATIONAL)
Welcome to Alebrijed. By placing an order, requesting a quote, or purchasing our services, you fully accept the following terms and conditions. These guidelines protect the artistic process, clarify the care of the piece, and ensure a fair relationship between the Studio and the Collector.
1. ARTISTIC NATURE & PREMIUM TECHNIQUE
1.1. Sculpting Technique (Color-infused / No Paint)
At Alebrijed, we do not paint over generic white figures. Each piece is 100% hand-sculpted using colored polymer clay. The artist manually mixes the clays to achieve the specific tones of your pet's fur from the structure of the material itself. This technique guarantees a premium finish, as the color is an integral part of the artwork and not a superficial layer of paint that can easily chip or peel over time.
1.2. Artistic Interpretation
We offer an artistic interpretation based on the artist's personal style, not an exact hyper-realistic replica or a 3D scan. Variations in textures and micro-details are marks of authenticity of manual work.
1.3. Jewelry Materials (Hardware)
The client is responsible for selecting their preferred material for the hardware and chains:
• Stainless Steel: High durability and resistance.
• Sterling Silver (925): A precious metal that may naturally tarnish over time depending on skin pH.
• Gold (Solid or Plated): Premium material that requires delicate care.
• Disclaimer: Alebrijed is not responsible for allergic reactions or the natural cleaning/maintenance required by precious metals.
1.4. Care Instructions, Durability & Warranty Exclusions
Polymer clay is a durable and slightly flexible material, meaning it will not shatter from simple accidental drops (unlike ceramics or glass). However, it is not indestructible. Please note:
• Friction & Pressure: The piece may suffer aesthetic damage (scratches, dents) if subjected to hard friction against rough surfaces, keys, other metals, or excessive pressure.
• Water & Sun: The material is water-resistant, but we recommend avoiding prolonged submersion (e.g., showering or swimming). Likewise, it must be protected from constant, direct sunlight to preserve the intensity of the colors long-term.
• Warranty: Our warranty covers structural crafting defects but excludes damage caused by misuse, heavy impact, friction scratches, natural wear and tear, or fading due to improper sun exposure.
2. TIMEFRAMES & "BLIND TRUST" POLICY
2.1. Production Timeframes
The estimated manufacturing time is 7 to 9 business days starting from the receipt of full payment (or agreed deposit) and the reference photos.
2.2. Modifications
Any request for structural changes or addition of elements made after the order is confirmed will be subject to extra costs and will automatically extend the delivery date.
3. RETURN & REFUND POLICY
3.1. Final Sale (Custom Items)
Because all sculptures are custom-made specifically to replicate your pet's features, all sales are final. We do not accept returns, exchanges, or issue refunds once the artistic work has begun or the piece has been delivered.
4. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING & TRANSIT WARRANTY (DHL)
4.1. Shipping Management
International shipments are handled via DHL (or an equivalent premium carrier). While our legal responsibility ends once the package is handed over to the carrier, we assist the client in resolving any issues. Custom duties or import taxes in the destination country are the buyer's responsibility.
4.2. Damages in Transit
In the unlikely event that the piece arrives damaged due to carrier mishandling:
• You must report it to Alebrijed within 24 hours of delivery, providing clear photos of the damage and the packaging.
• Claims made after this timeframe will not be processed.
• Resolution: Depending on the severity of the damage, we will offer a free repair, partial replacement, or assist with the carrier's insurance claim.
5. COMMUNICATION & CONDUCT
5.1. Disappearing Messages
The use of "Disappearing Messages" on WhatsApp is strictly prohibited to ensure the traceability of the order details. If activated, the service will be paused until the fixed chat is restored.
5.2. Right of Refusal
We reserve the right to unilaterally cancel the service (with a proportional refund for the uncompleted work) if the client engages in disrespectful behavior, harassment, or offensive language towards the artist.
6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The client acquires the physical piece, but Alebrijed retains all copyrights over the design and photographs of the artwork for use in our portfolio and social media (unless a temporary confidentiality request is made for surprise gifts).
